Take a trip from Queenstown to Christchurch via the famous Fox and Franz Josef Glaciers that flow down the Southern Alps into rivers that flow through green native Rain forest into the Tasman Sea. Stay overnight in one of these Glacier Villages.

Don’t miss he Helicopter Glacier landing (own cost) before continuing to Greymouth and join the TRANZ ALPINE EXPRESS (TM) for a enthralling train journey sloping the Southern Alps over huge viaducts and through numerous tunnels to Christchurch.

Places of Interest:

Day One – Queenstown to Glaciers

Depart Queenstown by coach passing through Cromwell, Wanaka and Hawea before travelling over the magnificent HAAST PASS into Westland.

Transfer to your accommodation. You stay at either the Fox or Franz Josef GLACIER villages.

A local shuttle is available to take you to the GLACIERS base (weather permitting). Spectacular photo opportunities abound of these huge ice masses. Watch out for Keas (native parrots) and their inquisitive cheeky play.

Day Two – TranzAlpine™ to Christchurch

Join your coach and continue to GREYMOUTH, the largest township and port in the area, rich in gold and coal mining history.

Enjoy the world famous TRANZALPINE™ TRAIN JOURNEY. Travel by train across the Southern Alps via the Otira tunnel and huge viaducts that cross the mighty Waimakariri Gorge before descending to the Canterbury Plains and on to the English charm of Christchurch.
