Travel from Queenstown through the fruit growing area of Cromwell, Lindis Pass and the McKenzie Country. Stop for lunch at foot of New Zealand's highest peak Aorangi (Mount Cook).
Flight seeing is highly recommended (own cost) enabling you experience some of the most dramatic alpine and glacier scenery in the world. Continue to Christchurch via Lake Tekapo and the Canterbury Plains.
Places of Interest:
- LAKE TEKAPO:
A spectacular sight of Southern Alps at the far end of the lake.(only on clear days) We recommend a scenic flight from here (own expense).
- MOUNT COOK:
On arrival your choice to have lunch at the Hermitage Hotel or the village cafe (additional cost). Time to explore (1 1/2 hours approximate).
- CHRISTCHURCH:
Arrive late evening at Christchurch. Transfer to your accommodation.
